Both ebony and some black African woods can be extremely dark and appear almost black in color. However, in general, ebony is considered to be the blackest wood available.
Ebony wood is known for its deep, rich black color, which is due to the high density of the wood and the natural oils and resins that are present in the wood. These oils and resins give ebony its distinctive black color that is difficult to replicate in other types of wood, even those that are also very dark.
While some black African woods may be close in color to ebony, they usually have more variation in color and may not be as consistently black.
